Zelda - Zelda is an almost 8 year old white (with some spots) Great Dane who is both deaf and visually impaired. Don’t be fooled however as she gives little indication that she has any impairments at all. She is very energetic and loving and just a sweetheart overall. She is housebroken and has free roam of the house. She savors the company of her humans and is always excited to be near you or doing something with you. Zelda responds very well to tactile guidance. She knows hand signals including sit, down, and come. She walks well with a harness and consistently keeps an eye out to make sure you're with still with her. She lived with a Pit Bull and Chihuahua in her previous home. She will be required to have a hearing dog to help her in gauging the state of her environment. She has handled transition well even as the only dog in the foster home. But it would be wonderful to see her find her forever home sooner rather than later, to let her get truly settled again in a loving home where she will always show you how thrilled she is to be spending time with you! She has lived with 2 cats and liked to play with them but wouldn’t hurt them. She will only be placed with children 8+ due to her visual impairment. She was living with 2 preteens and was great with them.
