Kodie - My name is Koda and I’m 5 1/2. My foster mom says that I am a beautiful fawn boy. I weight about 135 lbs, but need to gain some more muscle. I love my new foster home. I have lots of chew toys, dog beds, foster playmates, and lots of love here. I have some problems with my skin that I developed in my previous home. They lost their house, so... Here I am!!! We are working on clearing up my skin and with medication, lots of baths, and some special food... I think I';m gonna look great when I am all healed up!! I still feel weak in my back legs sometimes because I didn't get out of the crate/kennel much. I lost a lot of muscle. The vet thinks I will get better with time, TLC and exercise. So, I play some, walk some and rest some... what a life .. I get to that over and over and over again!! Yay!! a I am housetrained and a good boy. I will go in the crate and I will settle eventually, but I REALLY feel better just hanging out. I will wait for you in the living room/bedroom/basement... anywhere. I don't chew on anything besides my chew toys. I sleep in the bedroom with my foster mom and all my foster brothers and sisters and we don't have any issues. As much as I love it here with my foster family. I would love to have a family of my very own. My foster mom says that I will need to be in a home with another dog to keep me company and in a place where I don't have to be crated. My best friend is a 9 month old German Shepherd male! I saw some kittens at the vets office but I really didn’t bother looking at them much. Wont you adopt me??
Update 11/27/11 - Kodie is a dream to walk, he doesn't pull on the leash at all. He loves to go on walks but due to his weak back legs he can just go about 4 or 5 blocks before he gets pooped out, but he will run and play until he falls down. He just needs to rest and he is back up and running again! He loves to play with toys and to play tug of war with other dogs. He is a total love bug. He gives the Best Hugs Ever!! He leans in and wraps his head and neck around you and showers you with love! He has free rain to roam in the house, no crate needed. He has had zero accidents and does not touch anything hes not supposed too. He has some trouble with stairs but he is able to go up my split level stair case which has a total of 12 steps. He just takes a break in the middle. He does not get on furniture or the bed either. Kodie is one of my best foster dogs ever, he is one of the easiest Danes to take care of as long as you don't have a ton of stairs in your house. He will make his forever family so happy. Don't let his weak back legs scare you away they take nothing away from his loving personality.
