Kaboo - Kaboo is a very distinguished 10 year old brindle male. He came to us from a shelter so we do not know too much of his history. He starts off a little shy, but warms up quickly and does the Dane lean and gives the sweetest little kisses. He walks very well on leash and loves long strolls in the neighborhood. He will also happily entertain himself in the yard and give a gentle scratch at the door to let you know he is ready to come in. The shelter reports that he is crate trained, but he is very trustworthy when left out so we haven't tried crating him.
Kaboo is used to living as a solo dog and is not fond of sharing with other dogs. He greets other dogs very well, but would do best as an only dog. After being a little scared at first, he is ignoring the cat in his foster home. Kaboo is a sweet older gentleman who is looking for a family that can lavish all their love and attention on him.
3/26/11 Update - Kaboo is definitely your "distinguished old man." He enjoys hanging around with his people but is quite the active gent. He will take off on a quick trot if you aren't careful and before you know it, you're on a jog with him. He would love an active home with a good routine. It doesn't have to be rigid, but consistency is good for his health at this age. He loves to walk and would love a backyard where he could roam and explore on his own. He has lick granulomas that we are continually working on healing. These are most likely the result of Kaboo being bored at home alone and so activties to keep him busy or an active home with someone home would curb this issue. Kaboo is trusted in the house by himself and is not destructive, nor does he bark much. He has learned to recognize the sound of the car coming home and will pop his head near the door to greet you! Kaboo is a very loving dog who wants a fun, active home where he can enjoy the rest of his years.
