Hunter - is an 8.5-9 year old male Harlequin that came back into rescue due to no fault of his own. His owner could no longer keep him safe and care for him properly, so he was returned. He is a very sweet boy that gets along well with other dogs. Right now, we don’t know who he will do around kids or cats. He rides very well in the car, but has a VERY weak backend (vet diagnosed mild hip dysplasia) and cannot get into a high vehicle himself. The foster has put him on some Glucosamine supplements and we are hoping that will help. He still can get around fine, but doesn’t do well on wood or tile floors and needs to go to a ranch style home without steps. He did test positive for Lyme’s, but wasn’t enough for the vet to administer medication. All Hunter wants is love and will come to you for kisses and pets all day long. Hunter came back to MAGDRL in Jan. 2009.

Update 3/14/09 – Hunter is doing very well in his new foster home too. His foster sister, Sheeba has accepted that fact he’s staying and they get along great! He’s had trouble with slipping on the tile kitchen floor and now is scared to go on smooth surfaces. So the foster has put down several rugs to help him get around.  We are using Tramadol to help relieve some pain due to his back end problems, as he’s having more and more trouble getting up and down. He loves to lay outside in the sun when it’s warm and the foster mom has a hard time getting him to come back in. She said he’s very smart and she really enjoys him being there!
